Prickly Pear is a small shop on the island of Gozo, Malta which opened in April 2012 and specialises in contemporary design craft. In its first year in business, the shop was awarded "Craft Retailer of the Year" by the Maltese Ministry of Commerce.
Run by jewellery designer and silversmith Rachel Robinson, the space features Rachel's own work (made under the name Mogg Robinson) and is also proud to showcase high quality contemporay work by other makers based in Malta and Gozo.
Prickly Pear also stocks work by a few international craftspeople and some mass produced items with unusual or eye catching designs.
Prickly Pear is situated in the old pedestrian part of Victoria (Ir-Rabat). If you are facing St George Basilica, we are in the alley to the right of the church.
For 2015 we are joined by 3 more makers: Sue Mifsud (Malta) and Barbara Attard Pettett (Gozo) who both work in ceramics, and newcomer to Gozo, Paul Singleton who works in local and reclaimed woods. Their images and details will be on the Featured Artists page soon.
